Jean BELLIS was born in 1941 in Annecy
1974 - 1st exhibition in Ajaccio followed by many others: Bourges St Malo Paris Lorient Florence etc... 
1989 - Louvain, art Museum. 1980-1982 - selected for the Salon des Peintres de la Marine (Paris). 1983 - first plates of "The french harbours of the 1860-1920 years. (now more than 250 plates available) for the Bastia Ethnographic Museum and the ethnographic review The Chasse Marée. These plates are regulary exposed in museum. 1997 - Scenic decors for The Flying Dutchman from Wagner - Niort. Numerous covers for archeologics books and reviews. >From 1995, Jean Bellis started to illustrate the aeronautic world, his second passion. Illustrations in different aeronautic reviews and jackets for books.Today, he has drawn more than 700 profiles of aircraft from all epoques. Several large posters showing selections of Latécoère aircraft, Air France airliners, U.S. aircraft in french colours etc... He has supplied illustrations for several books. His speciality: a combination of the marine and aeronautical worlds, is the flying boats.
