More info

Model: F-4D “Phantom II”  F-4D-35-MC
Serial: s/n 67-14872 / 3-6699

For most of the war, IRIAF F-4Ds soldiered in this configuration, carrying M-117 “iron” bombs on TERs (triple-ejector-racks) mounted on inboard underwing pylons, and a SUU-23/A gun-pod under the centreline. At least one IrAF MiG-21 was shot down by fire from such a gun; at least two more were shot down using AIM-7E-2 Sparrows, usually carried in the rear missile bays, under the engines.
