Argentina Air Force placed a contract at the end of 1967 for ten B.2 and two T.4 ex-RAF aircraft. These were refurbished and modified by BAC and delivered as B.62s and T.64s between November 1970 and September 1971. In 1981 FAA purchased two other aircraft. These were prepared but never delivered due the Falklands conflict. In Argentina the Canberra entered service November 2 1970 and in 2000 it will have been in service here for 30 years. This B.2 serial B-109, built in 1953, enjoyed a varied RAF service with 76 Sqd, 32 Sqd and finally 73 Sqd. It was sold to BAC in 1969 for conversion to Argentinian B.62 specifications and was delivered to 1 Sqd FAA in September 1971.
