Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V "RS-T"

Robert Stanford Tuck joined the RAF in 1935 and claimed his first victories during the Battle of France. During the Battle of Britain, he was given command of No 257 equipped with Hurricanes. Promoted to Wing Commander, he led the Duxford Wing and later the Biggin Hill Wing in raids. He was shot down by flak near Boulogne in France on 28 January 1942 while flying this aircraft. He became a Prisoner of War until his escape in February 1945. He was credited with 27 victories, plus two shared victories.
