One of six F-14As from VF-33 and VF-102 to provide top cover for USAF’s F-111Fs that were inbound for Tripoli raid on 15 April 1986 was AB110. Crews of this squadron preferred to have their F-14s loaded lightly, and thus usually had them armed with four each of AIM-7F or AIM-7M Sparrows and AIM-9L Sidewinders.
