The first of two USN squadrons to take the F/A-18 Hornet to the sea was the VFA-131. Aircraft of this unit flew CAPs and SUCAPs during Operations Attain Document I/II/III and Prairie Fire, and provided support for the USN air strike on targets in Benghazi area, during Operation El Dorado Canyon. Their AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missiles knocked out at least five Libyan SAM-sites.
