One of most successful A-6E Intruders of Operations Prairie Fire and El Dorado Canyon was this example, modex AK502. During the former operation, it sunk one Nanuchka-class corvette of the Libyan Navy, while during the latter, it destroyed one MiG-23 of the Libyan Arab Air Force at Benina AB. It is illustrated in configuration deployed during attack on Benina airport, on 15 April 1986, armed with Mk.20 Rockeye CBU-59 APAMs.
