Starboard engine set alight during escort sortie over the Sussex coast so belly-landed and burned out at Black Patch Hill, Patching, near Angmering, 1.45 p.m. Believed that claimed by F/O P.W. Horton and Sgt Z. Klein of No.234 Squadron. Pilot Oberleutnant Hans Münich and Bordfunker Unteroffizier Adolf Käser (of 7/ZG76) both captured unhurt.
