Ognyan STEFANOV (Bu)
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1980, Ognyan Stefanov studied Art and Applied Photography in the National Academy for Theater and Film Art in Sofia and graduated with a BA in 2007. In mid-2006 he began his aviation photo career as a free-lancer and soon after that he joined AirTeamImages, and later Pixstel aviation photography agencies. Since then he has been publishing in magazines such as Aircraft Illustrated, Aerospace Publishing, Loop, Airliner World, Air & Cosmos, HeliOps, Club Wings, National Geographic, etc. In the beginning of 2008 he started a full-time job as an aviation photojournalist at Club Wings magazine, the only Bulgarian aviation magazine at that time. Since the autumn of 2010 he is an official photographer of the Bulgarian Air Force. His pictures were used by many companies as: Boeing, Alenia Aeronautica, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, Qatar Airways, Goodrich, Exel composites, Avicos, Logmat, Ukrainian Research Institute of Aviation Technology, PK Air, Chapman Freeborn, etc. Stefanov's work was shown in a number of exhibitions, several photo albums and a lot of calendars of the Bulgarian Air Force, BuAF airbases and ground based air defense. He won few prizes in 2009 and 2011 Aviation Week & Space Technology Photo Contest, and a few more prizes in a different photo contests in Bulgaria, mainly with aviation pictures. In the summer of 2013 he started to make aircraft artworks.
