Wearing a coat of standard light grey colour overall, and a post-1988 serial, this MiG-25PDS (Export) is otherwise looking exactly the way the type appeared during the war with Iran as well. The typical warload for IrAF MiG-25PDs was four R-40s, but for their forays over western Iran, in 1985, Iraqi Foxbats were often armed with two R-40RDs and two R-60MKs each. Sadly, no serials of IrAF MiG-25s from the times before 1988 are known. The insignia of No.96 Squadron was leaving no doubts about the type of the aircraft its pilots were flying.
